We are Paysera Bank, country’s first digital bank securing both Georgian and European accounts (IBAN) as well Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and the Georgian Settlement System (RTGS) accesses for our consumers.

We are now actively hiring the Lawyer who will participate in navigating legal landscapes, advising on all legal matters, and ensuring compliance with the legislative and regulatory environment. This position requires a high level of trust and responsibility, ensuring that all tasks are completed with precision and professionalism, demonstrating strong legal acumen and autonomous decision-making skills, with a proven ability to manage complex cases independently while effectively collaborating with senior leadership.

What will you do?

• Consistently monitor compliance with laws and regulations, inform about changes in legal acts, submit proposals on the compliance of the Bank's activities with legal acts.
• Participate in addressing and solving complex legal issues
• Ensure legal support around active and new bank products;
• Participate in the preparation of organizational projects, assess their compliance with legal acts and emerging legal risks, evaluate legal risks of other institutions' activities, observe/conclude on possible reduction of legal risks.
• Participate in drafting official letters related to legal issues Participate in the assessment and presentation of comments/conclusions on organizational documents, other internal documents, their drafts, amendments regarding compliance of approved internal documents with legal acts.
• Consult employees on the Bank's activities, internal procedures, and legislative regulations
• Responsible for ensuring the Bank's compliance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR) and current Georgian legislation on personal data protection.
• Conduct systematic monitoring of ongoing legal and regulatory reforms in the field of personal data protection, both at local and international levels;
• Supervise and control compliance with data protection legislation and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
• Respond to data subject requests/complaints;
• Detect, investigate, and appropriately respond to personal data breaches;
• Participate in the preparation of draft contracts within the scope of competence, review agreements;
• Prepare, evaluate, review, and present comments and conclusions (general financial services, other services provided by the Bank, as well as contracts with external service providers, contracts presented by partners).
• Prepare and review all types of Agreements, including templates
• Handle regular legal tasks and comprehensive legal support.

If you have:

• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance processes
• Around 2 years of experience as a Lawyer of a financial institution (banking industry would be ideal)
• Proven ability and aspiration to handle complex and difficult legal questions
• Experience in drafting and reviewing agreements and claims
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
• Familiarity and experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, demonstrating the ability to integrate these into daily tasks, and agility to explore more
• Fluent in English and Georgian, both written and spoken
• Higher education in Law
